We do not live in an indifferent universe that does not care whether we sink or swim in the ocean. Rather, the spirit of God compels us to swim and to swim with it's strength.
This is an idea that I find most interesting. I look around at the world, at my present state of being, the situations in which I have lived for the past 12+ months, and I often find it comforting to see it all as an indifferent, "that's just life," philosophy. I find it fleeting too. Unsatisfactory. The engine of creation, the spirit of God, the "Holy Ghost," wishes for me to draw on that power of creation, instilled by God, to "swim" in the "ocean." To "trudgen" through the deep blue of existence. Through lulls and surges.
What awaits on the other side of the expanse of the ocean though? Is it paradise? More of the same? Contentment? Is the act of getting to the other side more important than what's there? Can I care enough to give it a try? The unknown depths are frightening things.
